This building is located adjacent to the Trans-Canada highway as a gateway to Northwestern Ontario and the town of Ignace. It is designed as a welcoming respite for drivers and contains a tourism office, local museum, washrooms, and a public library. The design team worked with a museum designer to incorporate local themes into the architectural design. This 10,000sf building gently curves with a covered walkway looking out to a rustic pond. The tyndall stone and granite pilasters as well as the post and beam structure reflects the local landscape and provides a refuge for drivers.
